Author's Review
This right here is a great album. It seems to be a few steps away from Jane's Addiction; in my opinion, they didn't fully blossom until the "Good God's Urge" album in 1996.
But this album is very good. Its got everything that people liked about Jane's Addiction, plus some new stuff that these other guys bring to the table.
The song "Pets", the one everyone is familiar with, is a great song, but not even the best one on the album. My fave is the last track. Its a meditative, trance-like drum and bass thing, and Perry adds some great vocals.
This album straight up rocks hard, has a few spacy tunes, and like I said above, a few trance-like tunes.
I get the feeling like Perry's music is sometimes inspired by a weird take on the Cabbala, or whatever you call it.
I highly recommend this album.
