Keep Your Eye on the Future

Date of Review: Jun 18, 2000

I have to admit, I was tricked into starting the subscription to this magazine by one of those con artist magazine companies. Strangely enough, I am actually glad they did it. My monthly issue of Popular Science keeps me up to date on just about everything in the mainstream of advances on technology, from the Mars Missions to new can openers.

I look forward to getting my copy each month, and it normally takes me up to a week to read the entire thing. I have been a huge follower of the NASA space programs since I was a child and this magazine brings all the news I need about what is happening to my door. Before I had to rely on TV and newspapers for this info, two forms of media that seem more interested in telling about all the bad things that happen than the good things.

Every issue has great feature articles written by men and women who really know what they are talking about. They keep up with the "pop" electronic devices, give you the low down on such things as automotive advances, space exploration and medicine. There is always at least a small update on current projects from NASA as well as covering at least one interesting related topic.

Even the ads in this magazine are worth reading. They are informative about the product and most of them are for the new electronic toys that everyone wants to see and learn more about. Almost every ad has a means for you to contact the company that produces the product directly, with many offering free info packets just for asking.

This is the way a magazine should be. Articles about things you want or need to know about, with ads about new devices that will be helpful to have rather than just a bunch of cheap junk that may never see it's way out of your closet after you buy it. knowledge is power and Popular Science is dedicated to giving you the power to make informed choices in the high tech market that we have today.
