drove 2005 Grand Prix and loved it, absolutely loved it
Pros:
base model is sporty, comfortable, and makes you fall in love with it
Cons:
A/C brings in smells sometimes, recirculating A/C not automatically on
The Bottom Line:
Amazing car, really fun to drive, and makes you feel cool driving it. Much better than boring looking sedans.

I drove a black on gray cloth 2005 Grand Prix (base model minus Onstar) as a rent car for a few days. I have to say this car was a joy to drive. It had extremely comfortable seats, a great instrument layout, a very sporty feel to it, and incredible looks for a sedan. I have driven a total of 26 cars in the past 2 years and this was one of the very, very best.
I could only find a few problems with it:
-The recirculating A/C button turns off each time you turn off the car. This is VERY annoying when you are used to having your recirculating A/C on every time you get in your car. Outside air is just gross in Dallas, it all smells like exhaust and grass clippings, so recirculating air is a must for me.
-The recirculating A/C sometimes brought in grass clipping smells when I passed people mowing.
-the seats in the back won't fold flat if you have the front seats leaning backward in the slightest. I found this to be a little annoying, but not so bad.
Would I buy a 2005 Grand Prix in the future? Heck yes, I plan on it! I have also driven a GTP (supercharged version) and they are a real blast to drive around. I think the Grand Prix is my current dream car (I'm in college) because I need something that is versatile, has 4 doors for low insurance costs, and I want a car with electric everything like the Grand Prix base model. My dad is bringing me an '02 Toyota Corolla with manual door locks, manual windows, and basically... well... I just can't put it to words, it just feels like a bottom of the barrel car. I'm used to driving my sister's '95 Camaro Z28 everyday, so I'm used to electric everything and a very sporty car. The Grand Prix is almost as sporty feeling (since I never have any opportunity to really use the Camaro as a performance car, even though it is evident it isn't as fast) and is far more comfortable, so I would really like to get one.
