A good buy
Pros:
Reasonably quick, comfortable for 2, suspension is sporty, a head turner.
Cons:
Outdated interior, steering could be more nimble/connected for a car of that class, blind spots.
The Bottom Line:
Want something sportier then a dime a dozen mustang/fwd imports and have limited cash? A firebird y87/camaro rs is a perfect buy.

Author's Review
Product: 02' Pontiac Firebird Y87 GT/w68
I brought this Firebird to replace my 88' Firebird.
Had this for 1 month.
-While every once in a long while there is a hint of body flex, compared to 3rd generation inside, its a luxo cruiser.
-It sits well off the ground, but still has its areas of blind spots.
-The ride is sporty firm, like a car in this class should (it has a f41 heavy duty/sport suspension upgrade).
-Braking is exceptional with 12 inch disc front/rear and 2 piston PBR front/single piston rear calipers w/abs.
-The TCS is a great option to have in rain/snow, TCS helped me once in the rain, taking a sharp turn at 35-40mph.
-The controls/displays are outdated but simple, straightforward.
-Seats 2 people fine, 4 adults may be a problem.
-The stock sound system is great (monsoon 500watt), great bass for what I need, but I am getting annoyed by the cheap headunit....that I am going to replace (ipod compatible,mp3 cd compatible, make the sound clearer and want a "digital" equalizer).
The 3800 isn't the fastest engine out there. But paired with the y87 packaged 3.42 gears, it isn't a slug (will outplace anything except a v8 camaro/trans am (obviously), 2000+ mustang gt, 350z, 3000gt vr, evo, and impreza sti.
All in all its a classic head turning pony car without dropping 20k or being deemed a high risk driver by your insurance co.
