Should the Pontiac Grand Prix Win the Grand Prize? I Don't Think So...

Date of Review:  Feb 20, 2002
The Bottom Line: Recommended with a caveat: if you buy a used one, be very careful to have the drivetrain checked out.
Review: It had been a while -- two or three decades, I'll bet -- since the last time I'd sat in the driver's seat of a Pontiac Grand Prix. Lots of things have changed in that time: drive-in movies are gone, replaced by Blockbuster... carhops are gone...

American Power

Date of Review:  Oct 22, 2000
Review: I test drove a '01 Grand prix GTP sat after I drove the olds intrigue.
What a difference. I did not notice any styling changes other the color of the car I drove from the '00 year. I just love the muscular look of this car. Although the engine...

A Car for the Times

Date of Review:  Jul 16, 2007
The Bottom Line: About as many features and sportiness you can pack into a sedan made in the past 10years you can find for under $6000. TRY ignoring the typical cheap materials.
Review: Ah the Grand Prix GT 4 door. I drove this car for three years (2004-2007) and it was a hand-me-down from my dad who took meticulous care for it and only put on 58k miles since buying it new in 2001. At first I was pumped to be getting this car, as...

This is a fun car

Date of Review:  Mar 13, 2001
The Bottom Line: The sportiest car you can get that will hold five people. Compare price, styling, performance, and features - I'd recommend this car for families or singles.
Review: My wife and I bought a Grand Prix GT about 2,000 miles ago. We were looking for a sporty family car that is fun to drive. We took the SE for a ride and we both liked it and were thinking about buying it. Then the salesman invited us to take the GT...

(Updated) 2001 Grand Prix GT... A Great American Performance Sedan

Date of Review:  Apr 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent car. Driven 70 miles per day. Reliable, Powerful & Turns Heads!
Review: I decided to rewrite my opinion on the 2001 Grand Prix, to keep it as short and informative as possible.

Engine/Drivetrain:

The 3800 Series II V6 engine was combined with a 4T65E 4-speed Automatic Transmission. The engine is a...

95,000 Miles Later ......

Date of Review:  May 24, 2004
The Bottom Line: Outstanding service record. My dealership service department has forgotten my name. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.
Review: I actually purchased my 2001 Grand Prix GTP new, so this is an owner's experience report, not really a "used" car purchase reaction.

As the 2005 models are about to be released, few buyers of 2001 model cars are really detail oriented...

Just like what it looks

Date of Review:  Dec 10, 2000
Review: I rented a 2001 Grand Prix GT V-6 with 3800 engine to drive down to Virginia from NJ a few weeks ago. Having been with this car for seven days and more than 500 miles, I have my comments.

Engine and handling : Excellent. It is a fast car...

Style, reliability and performance at a bargain basement price.

Date of Review:  Jun 20, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you want a reliable, sporty looking car with a good amount of space, and good power, without paying a high premium, check out the grand prix.
Review: *update*
SLIGHT OVERVIEW:

The Pontiac grand prix has been in production for 40 years and running and is produced by General Motors Pontiac division. The grand prix GT is a 3400-pound midsize sedan (that was also offered in coupe...

Grand Prix - Reviews the supercharged GTP

Date of Review:  Dec 7, 2001
The Bottom Line: Recommended 110% for anyone who wants a big taste of performance at a small price.
Review: When the 1997 Grand Prix GTP made its debut, I was shocked that GM had opted to use a supercharged version of its 3.8 engine. Unlike the previous 3.4 liter equipped GTP, the all-new 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, with the GTP package, finally gave the...

My Second Pontiac Fails to Disappoint

Date of Review:  Mar 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car. The Pontiac family has treated me well - and for the right price.
Review: (Updated August 10, 2004, near the bottom)
[May 14, 2004]
Donating my decent-running 182,259 mile 1995 Grand Am gave me plenty of confidence in my purchase of a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT last week.

I was looking for quality,...
