Pontiac's Other Flyer

The 2001 Pontiac Bonneville is one of the best four door American cars made. Redesigned for 2001 the Bonneville retains a vastly similar drivetrain to past models but boasts a complete visual change. Although, I did like the styling of the past models, I must admit that it was getting old and a redesign was needed. The new design isn't my favorite either, but it is good and it makes the Bonneville look relatively fast for a car of its size. The main thing that separates the Bonneville different from your run-of-the-mill American sedan (with the exception of the Buick Regal) is it's engine. Traditionally, rear wheel drive and a V-8 must be the way to go, but if that's not an option, the 205 horsepower 3.8 liter V-6 is a worthy option. To make the Bonneville truly special though, order the SSEi package and get yourself the 240 horsepower supercharged 3.8 V-6. That is a wise decision if you can budget $30,000 for a four dour sedan.
