The VoiceStation 300 Is A Great Home Unit

I wanted a better conference/speakerphone for assisting an 86 year old family member with phone calls including two or three people on one end, and the VoiceStation 300 is much better than an ATT phone/speaker combo unit that I was using.

The VoiceStation 300 is reportedly a big improvement in sound quality over the VoiceStation 100, which looks just like it. I managed to find a nice value on a brand new VoiceStation 300, via an eBay sellor at $175, plus $15 shipping. Although I've only had it a day now, the sound is rich and clear. The features are are not too numerous and are straightforward. However, it does have an audio-out port for a recorder or to a computer for possible recording of interviews on Podcasts, which is nice.

The smaller size was important, too, as the standard Polycom units appear to be kind of large for home use. The analog phone line piggy-backs to the power supply, so there is a second, single line only, that goes to the unit, which is a more elegant method. There's an outlet to plug a handset phone to the unit for private conversations, but that seems needless, as other rooms could have handset phones for privacy.
