Author's Review
Had $300 in gift certificates from Best Buy and my Mission ASI 700 sub had died, my home theatre is relatively small so I don't need a 300+ watt monster. I listened to the Klipsch and it was just too boomy for my tastes, I love tight well defined bass. I was impressed with the Definitive PSB1000, but I did not want to spend $499.00. The Polk PSW110 was 249.99 and it gave tight bass, but seemed a little thin at the store. It has a 30 day money back from Best Buy, so I gave it a shot. When I got it home, I fired it up and the sound was tight, but seemed to be a little thin and muddy sounding. I loaded up the carousel and let it go at moderate volume. About 4 hours in, "The sub came to life!!!!" Extremely tight, strong well defined bass, beyond its $249 tag. The only tell that this is not a $500+ sub is that, it's low end could be a hair lower. Put in X2 on the DVD player and this sub did a fantastic job!!!! The definitive does go lower, but this is every bit as tight and defined extremely impressive for a $249.00 sub. GIVE IT AT LEAST 4 HOURS OF BREAK IN BEFORE MAKING A DECISION. CHANCES ARE THAT THE DISPLAY AT BEST BUY HAS NOT BEEN BROKEN IN.
