Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor - A good deal!

After my husband nearly died of pulmonary embolism just before the holidays, he decided to get active again in order to reduce the risks of future blood clots. His doctor recommended that he invest in a heart rate monitor. After some basic research we decided on the Polar FS1.
This is an amazingly economical product! For the price, it works as well as some of the more expensive models. The display is clear and easy to read. It has multiple functions available for monitoring heart health, including timers and a stop watch. It is fairly comfortable to wear. My husband reports that, after speaking with friends of his that also have heart rate monitors, false alarms appear to occur across the board with all models so this is not something that is a flaw with the Polar FS1. He also tells me that it is not terribly complicated to use and that he likes the clock feature which he did not realize that he missed by not wearing a watch anymore. So far nothing to dislike has made itself evident with this model.
