Author's Review

Well, it has been approximately 4 years since the initial Pokemon phase has worn out. After Pokemon Yellow, things sorta wore out, for the exception of Pokemon Puzzle League, the games after Yellow were pathetic and repetitive. But now, Finally moving onto the newer Gameboy advanced system, Nintendo has come out with something brilliant. Also known as Pokemon Sapphire (the most difficult and awkword word to spell) and Ruby has made Pokemon "cool" again (I will admit it, my friends and I now carry our GBA's to school with Pokemon talking about it again, in front of all the big highschoolers). Pokemon is made into a not only little kids game, but holds alot of appeal for older people too. Although the rivalry is toned down (Rival? What Rival...) The game is still exciting as a father figure is finally introducted (a gym leader), and guess what girls, we've got our own Character (I must admit ours looks ALOT better than the guys). New pokemon have mixed around with old ones, and the cuteness factors are still unbeatable (nothing cuter than a mini sumo wrestler) and the pokedex is even more filled with information (has size comparisons of Pokemon to allow your imagination go wild). The stratgy required in the game (especially for time saving efficiency freaks like me) is amazing, as two on two pokemon battles have appeared, and new elements (steel) have also appeared since gold. The GBA provides spectacular colour and depth to the game and the game itself is a challenge worth at least 40 hours of play, multiplied by at least 3, as each time, you probably will want to try out all three starting Pokemon.
