Product Review

Stopped working after 16 months

by   accessmarty ,   Sep 13, 2005

Pros:  When it was working it performed as expected.

Cons:  Broke shortly after 1 year warranty. $1600 to replace.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

I received this monitor from Dell. It did not come with a stand, which needed to be purchased separately for about $300. It was working fine and then suddenly stopped displaying a picture, stopped responding to the remote control power switch, stopped responding to the standby switch on monitor. The monitor is 16 months old, has been plugged into an APC UPS surge suppressor and only has one video cable plugged into it. I was told by Planar that they would replace the unit for $1600. I would not recommend purchasing anything from Planar.
