Keyboard is the key

Date of Review: Jan 27, 2004

The Bottom Line:  Easily programmed with external keyboard. Sound, picture, other features comparable with other high-end DVD players. A
If you are using the remote cursor to name 300 disks I pity you. But if you have a keyboard (I assume anyone with a computer does) you can easily program all 300 in less than an hour. All features but ADVANCE PAGE can be done with the keyboard. The secret to filling and programming this thing is make a numbered, alphabetical list before you begin. There are helpful numbers on the carousel so you can make sure you are putting them in the correct slots. Then simply reference your list to quickly fill in the menu. Mine read about 1/4 of the titles so that helped keep me from getting out of sync inadvertently. A couple of things would make it better. One a keyboard shortcut for Advance Page and another, there are only 5 preset files of 50 disks each you can program. This obviously leaves you with 50 disks that you can't preprogram. They should at least have 300 possible program slots for pre-programmed play files.

Other than that, the sound, picture and other features are compatible with high-end DVD players. I also use my printed list to reference titles instead of the menu, which only scrolls 5 titles at a time and takes a while to get through 300 titles.
