Author's Review
This Movie was one of my old time Favorites. I went to the movies to see it when I was younger and just fell in love with it. I remember going to the movies with my Mom and just sitting there and watching the movie thinking how cool it was, and that it was all magic. Then a few months after the movie was in theaters it came out on video cassette. Well, I bet you know what I did huh! Yup your right hahaha I had my Mom go out and buy me the movie. Well, it took her a few weeks to get it and I was so upset. I called my grandma on the phone and told her I just had to have it. She picked me up and we went to the store and got it. I had to of been the most happiest kid that day.
The movie Pinocchio is about an older man named Geppetto. Geppetto was a woodcarver and he made all kinds of wooden stuff. One night he decided to carve a little puppet and make it a boy. He decided on a boy because he wanted it to be like his son he never had. He has always wanted a son so he wished upon a star that night for a son. That's all he has ever really wanted was just 1 son.
He started talking to the wood and trying to find out what he wanted to name him. "What shall I call him?" he said to himself. "I think I'll call him PINOCCHIO. He thought this name will make his fortune. he knew a whole family of Pinocchio once--Pinocchio the father, Pinocchia the mother, and Pinocchi the children-- and they were all lucky. The richest of them begged for his living. So that's how he got his name.
After choosing the name for his Puppet, Geppetto set seriously to work to make the hair, the forehead, the eyes. Fancy his surprise when he noticed that these eyes moved and then stared fixedly at him. Geppetto, seeing this, felt insulted and said in a grieved tone:
"Ugly wooden eyes, why do you stare so much at me?"
(This is the part I thought was magic hehehe)
After the eyes, Geppetto made the nose, which began to stretch as soon as he had finished. It stretched and stretched and stretched till it became so long, it seemed endless.
Poor Geppetto kept cutting it and cutting it, but the more he cut, the longer it grew. So he decided to just let it be.
Next he made the mouth. No sooner was it finished than it began to laugh and poke fun at him.
STOP LAUGHING Geppetto said angrily; but he might as well have spoken to the wall. The mouth stopped laughing, but it stuck out a long tongue. Not wishing to start an argument, Geppetto made believe he saw nothing and went on with his work. After the mouth, he made the chin, then the neck, the shoulders, the stomach, the arms, and the hands.
When he was almost done the puppet started being bad and doing bold things. Geppetto knew then that he was going to be a handful. The legs and feet still had to be made. As soon as they were done, Geppetto felt a sharp kick on the tip of his nose. That's when he knew he had a bad boy on his hands.
Ok now this is the funniest thing about Pinocchio. Every time he lies his nose grows bigger and bigger.
He lied one time to a fairy about gold and his nose grew.
For ever lie he told his nose would grow 2 inches.
Pinocchio, means well, but he cannot help lying... Pinocchio will have to go through many difficult adventures before he learns to tell the truth... and truly becomes flesh-and-blood.
But I'm gonna stop telling you all about this movie now.
I know this whole movie by heart and I still love to watch it. I know I didn't really go into detail and that's because if I do then I won't be able to stop and I will ruin the movie for those of you who have not seen it. But if you haven't seen it you really should. It is a great old cartoon. It's for both kids and adults. To this day I still love it and watch it sometimes.
I hope you have enjoyed my opinion. Please check out my others.
