Epinions It depends on the Programming!

by  paco_t,  Dec 28, 2002
Pros: Customisability and size
Cons: Customisability and price
The Bottom Line: If you have many different Home Theatre components, all of a different brand, and have artistic design ability (or a lack of remote control asthete) then get this remote!
Review: DESIGN
The design of the ProntoNeo is effective. The remote is small enough that it can be used with one hand, but still maximises available LCD screen space. The backlighting is a nice blue, and the hard buttons are backlit aswell. Overall, the...

Epinions Great for multiple components

by  danj58,  Feb 3, 2003
Pros: Flexible, nice size, hard buttons, programmable.
Cons: Must be programmed on PC to reach full potential.
The Bottom Line: Buy it, but be prepared to put some effort into programming it. It's worth it if your audio/video setup is complex.
Review: My problem was to consolidate the remotes for the components of our home theater system so that everyone could actually watch TV without a detailed user manual. The components to be controlled consisted of: Toshiba 42HDX82 TV; Denon 1803 Receiver; JVC...

Epinions ProntoNeo can bring you to a new world of Home Theater bliss!

by  raerae1616,  Jan 20, 2005
Pros: Very Powerful, awesome price on refurbished models, lots of support on remotecentral.com
Cons: Needs firmware update, very technical and involved configuration, requires a PC
The Bottom Line: If you have the time and want to bring your home theater experience to another level this remote is the perfect piece for under $100 (refurbished model).
Review: I've been using this remote for a long time now and I have been totally satisfied with it. So much so that I have talked friends and family into getting it also. It is extremely functional and capable. It can reproduce the functionality of just ...

Epinions A great remote for the price

by  Robbo,  Sep 24, 2002
Pros: Nice size, fully configurable.
Cons: Mine has to be reset often.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this remote because it is a FULLY programmable universal remote that fits into one hand.
Review: This is a great little remote that you can operate with one hand. Almost everything about this remote is configurable with the included software and computer cable.

You can define your own buttons (size, label, color, style) and you can then...

Epinions Put All Your Other Remotes Away

by  gpforet,  Aug 1, 2005
Pros: Entry level price. Can control entire home theater systems. Nice design.
Cons: Must be programmed to make the most of it. No variables in the programming.
Review: I wanted a remote that I could program so that I only needed one. I wanted touchscreen and macros so I could push one button and have my TV turn on, my receiver turn on and set itself to the proper settings, turn on the DVD player, and presto, sit down ...

Pros: Looked like just the thing for me
Cons: Would not learn, must be defective unit
The Bottom Line: Be careful that you can return it!
Review: I got real excited to see BestBuy offering the TSU500 at $149. I had to travel to stores in three different cities to find one in stock. Got home, discovered the unit had been returned, (writing in the book said purchased three months ago.)

Epinions Keep looking

by  john_in_nc,  Feb 17, 2007
Pros: Replace nearly every other remote with just one, Custom Buttons, Very flexible
Cons: Eats batteries, locks up every week, difficult to hold
Review: I have had this remote for about 4 years. Purchased this to remove the collection of remotes from the coffee table. Unfortunately although it can replace them all you need to keep the other remotes around cause this one will lock up very often and ...

Epinions Get a pin ready to be able to reset...

by  road_rage,  Nov 17, 2003
Pros: Affordable, Configurable
Cons: Fragile, Un-reliable, Always needing reset!!!
Review: I bought this remote because it offered lots of the functionality of the Pronto with less of a cost, or so I thought. The first release of the editing software was plagued with problems and would overwrite and learning that you had done. The next release ...

Epinions 2nd BROKEN NEO - EXTREMELY UNDEPENDABLE

by  kmm1,  Dec 2, 2004
Pros: Awesome when it works.
Cons: Too undependable for the high price.
Review: This is my second Pronto Neo. The first one was refurbished and lasted four months, while the second one lasted a little over a year. Would you like to know what Philips told me? They told me tough luck buddy, please buy another one of these thing so ...
