I bought this MP3 player a week ago to listen to several podcast, while I was on the go. These podcast range in size from about 1 hour to almost 3 hours long.
Because of the length of the podcasts it isn't uncommon to have to pause the player hoping to come back to it later. Unfortunately, if you power off the unit, or it automatically powers down, then you have to start the podcast over from the beginning. You can fast forward it, but the this is relatively slow, which means you have to hold the button down for several long minutes (I have even used a rubber band to hold it for me, it works, but isn't ideal).
I called Philips about my concern, and they said that it wasn't a feature available with the unit, and there are no plans in the future to add it. The tech support person told me that it didn't have enough memory to add the feature. However, I have a 256 MB mp3 player that does have this feature (different manufacturer).
Other than this big negative, I think that this is a great unit. The sound is great (head phone hurt when inserted in the ear). Being about use .wma files helped so that I can have almost 600 songs on the unit. But that isn't typical, because I have several hundred songs that are smaller than 1:00.
