50% off is how much this unit is worth
Pros:
inexpensive noise-cancellation earphones, noise-cancellation unit built into headphone wire
Cons:
uncomfortable for smaller ears, hard to put on correctly, noise-cancellation effectiveness
The Bottom Line:
As another reviewer put it,"you get what you pay for." This unit does do its job, but for a 24.99 value.

Author's Review
I was browsing down the clearance isles at my local Target shopping center, where i noticed one of these headphone units were on clearance for 35 dollars from an orignal price of 49.99. A week later, I was browsing down the Electronics clearance shelf and noticed there was even more of these headphones on clearance, some of the tags said 24.99!!! So being the cheap person I am, I just had to buy it. 50% off an item, who wouldn't buy it???
Before opening the item, I knew that I had to browse the Internet for reviews on this item just in case it was a bad product, hence being on the clearance rack for 50% off. The opinions on this website for this product are true. This item is hard to put on. BUT, I think this is because the reviewer who said they were uncomfortable had smaller ears. Although I can fit normal ear phones, these were difficult for me to put on. I could put one plug in completely, although the other plug could only fit about 80-90% into my ear. And if the plugs are not completely in, they WILL easily fall out if disturbed.
There were reviews on how bad the noise-cancellation function worked. I do agree that these headphones do not cancel noise well standalone, which is not having any audio source being played while using the noise-cancellation function. Although, if the plugs are placed in teh ear correctly, the noise-cancelation will work well when listening to music. A reviewer did say that when listening to an ebook the noise-cancelation did not work too well, this also occurs in between changing songs when there is no music playing.
The comfort level of these ear plugs for me would probably be a 6/10. I gave it a 6 because I can tolerate some discomfort, although if you are sensitive or have smaller ears, I would probably rate the comfort level lower.
The noise-cancellation function DOES work. although, it works well only when you are listening to music simotaneously. otherwise, the noise-cancellation fails to do its feature when used alone. I have not tested this on a plane, but I have tried this while someone was watching TV downstairs with my door open upstairs, and it had no effect. Possibly the earplugs itself was blocking some of the noise passively. I have to add, the noise cancellation works WELL, BUT only when i press and hold the ear plugs in while listenign to music. I had the tv with the volume more then halfway with the TV about 6-7 feet away from me and i could not hear it at all! but the second i released my hands, the tv sound leaked in and was auidble. so they do do a good job of noise cancelation, the fit of the plugs in your ear will question its effectiveness.
As i'm writing this, it's been 10 minutes since i was talking about the comfort level. My ear canal is starting to have a slight burning sensation where the plugs are contacting my ear. Again, this could be due to the smaller ear canal size of mine. The size of these earplugs could be teh perfect size for a person with normal ear canal size (whatever that would be haha..).
I almost forgot, it does come with a little nifty pouch to hold your earplugs, an adaptor to plug your phones into a hi-fi system i believe. and it also comes with an airplane adaptor plug. It's nice to have extras along with the 50% off price tag :-)
I wouldn't recommend using these for activities that involve moving. I have noticed I need to readjust the ear plugs occasionally even when i'm sitting still.
As another reviewer put it, "you get what you pay for."
49.99 for these headphones would have been a waste of money. 50% off at a price of 24.99 sounds about right.
UPDATE #1 so it's been about a week or so, and i've been using these once in a while but I would stop using them less than an hour because of the discomfort and the constant readjustments of the earplugs. I have just recently figured out the cause for this and a solution. After taking a shower, I decided to use the earplugs because it was late at night. Turns out, the ear plugs went in snug and comfortably and i have not needed to readjust them. I am assuming the reason the ear plugs were so uncomfortable is because my ears were dry at the time. After my ears were moist coming out of the shower, they probalby were more adapt to the ear plugs.
