no Noise cancelling!

Date of Review:  Nov 6, 2008
Review: I bought these on board an easyjet flight this fall, despite the fact that I already owned two other sets of noise cancelling headphones.  The reason was that these are small and easy to carry, the others are over the ear.But these have no noise...

Review: I have had these buds for couple of months now. I fly often (on average 4 times a week)on both jet aircraft and propeller aircraft. it has worked well in both environments. would be nice if the box would have a clip on it, and a separate volume...

Pain in the butt

Date of Review:  Feb 23, 2007
Review: The headphones themselves are pretty good, but they are also quite a pain in the butt. Here's Why:
The battery box, and on/off switch sets right in the middle of your stomach, and is quite large for its purpose.
If you lose your little...

A so-so product. Boosts volume but adds low hiss. I'd look elsewhere

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2007
Review: I just picked these up at Wal-mart for about $25. They work -- kind of. They do reduce noise by a little, but when plugged into my portable DVD player, they also add a hum. They sort of do more boosting of the volume level than they do of reducing...

Major Design Flaw!

Date of Review:  Oct 5, 2006
Review: The box that holds the batters is placed in the center of the cord, about 2 feet from either end. When you put on the headphones, the box does not reach my pocket, so it is left dangling around my belly button. It is so heavy that it instantly pulls...

noise canceling does not work

Date of Review:  Jun 24, 2006
Review: bought good looking and affordable headphones Philips SHN2500 prior to a trip to Europe.
They are small (which is good), have a variety of adapters (including one for airplane jacks). The box with a noise canceling gizmo holds an AAA battery...

very poor bass response

Date of Review:  Jul 16, 2006
Review: I just compared these to my $5.00 pair of phones, and they're *worse*. Very tinny sound, poor bass. The battery/control box is large and has no belt clip or lanyard so it may pull the ear buds out of your ears.

Work on Planes and Super Easy to Travel With

Date of Review:  Aug 29, 2008
The Bottom Line: Recommended for anyone not willing to spend $150 for noise cancelling. Highly recommended for travel.
Review: Travelling all the time, you learn to lighten the load of what you have to carry. I liked my huge earphones with all the sponge and cushion but my ears started to chafe after a while ... then I borrowed these little tiny ones from my brother one day...

Terrible - don't do it to yourself!

Date of Review:  May 10, 2009
Review: My experience of these headphones has been terrible. They are not "active noise cancelling" in any sense of the word - rather, they replace ambient noise with a high-pitch sqealing sound. The only noise cancelling I get is from pushing the buds far...
