Philips SHN2500 Consumer Headphones

I bought this product for the advertised noise reduction facility as I had a 14 hour flight to go on.
It's a nice fit in the ears as there is a choice of 3 different sizes, but that's the only good thing about it.
I tested it out during my flight and it made absolutely no difference what so ever to the background noise of the aircraft, all it does is to amplify the sound - which can also be done by turning up the volume on the flight control pad. I compared them to the free headset provided on the plane and there was no difference between the two headsets - apart from the price. I also had the opportunity to try a fellow passengers Sony noise reduction headset and I was amazed at the performance, this Sony worked as described and completely eliminated the noise of the aircraft.
Last time I will ever buy anything made by philips.
