Pros: They sound great, and they reduce outside noise.
Cons: They don't last.
The Bottom Line: A shame they don't last. I really liked them.

Pros: Great sound, three size ear caps
Cons: Cable design odd, box hard to open
The Bottom Line: Can't afford Bose? Sony fries your ears? These may do the trick.

I was looking for a good pair of noise cancelling headphones that wouldn't leave me in the poorhouse. I'd used a pair of Bose at the Apple store, but they... |

Pros: Choice of 3 size earplugs
Cons: No noise reduction at all
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I bought this product for the advertised noise reduction facility as I had a 14 hour flight to go on.
It's a nice fit in the ears as there is a choice of 3 different sizes, but that's the only good thing about it. I tested it out during my... |

Pros: They are cheap.
Cons: They don't cancel noise!
The Bottom Line: Don't buy if you want noise cancelling headphones.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I bought these just prior to a transatlantic flight. I wanted to reduce the background noises to a level where I could enjoy a movie without having to increase the volume to ear-damaging levels.
In flight, I wasn't able to detect any noise... |

Pros: work like similar priced ($20-$30) in-ear earbuds
Cons: not "active" noise-canceling; small control box adds bulk
The Bottom Line: They are better (but not much) for a plane ride than regular in-ear earbuds at the same price.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: "Active noise canceling" means that the circuitry should actively listen for noise and generate sound waves to cancel out (usually low frequency hum) noise.
There is no microphone which listens for noise and no circuity to cancel unwanted... |

Pros: For the price, you can't beat them
Cons: the box that holds the battery and electronics is in a weird place.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: While I don't think the noise cancelling electronics are that impressive (they just seem like a small pre-amp that makes the sound louder), they cut quite a bit of noise. I fly a lot and I really don't hear the airplane noise if music is playing...

Pros: None
Cons: Noise cancelling feature non-existent

Review: These earbuds do not work at all. The rubber piece that fits snug in your ear will reduce some unwanted noise, but the noise cancelling circuit only creates a hissing noise and does nothing against the loud roar of a jet aircraft. Sound quality is...

Pros: Noise Cancelling for cheap, works OK
Cons: Quality, comfort and no replacements for adapters

Review: I was disappointed in the quality of these ear buds. They don't stay in your ear and they are cumbersome to handle; the noise canceling control box are pulling on the ear buds and make the fall out.
After 3 weeks of light use the left ear bud... |

Pros: Price, feel, noise canceling actually works.
Cons: Battery case is in a very inconvenient place. Cord gets tangled easily.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for something that has noise canceling but are unprepared to pay a lot of money, get them! They actually work.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: So, here's my story: I happened to be shopping at Target the day before my international flight (17hrs of flying) and saw these headphones. The price: roughly $30 was the largest plus for noise canceling headphones. I had heard bad things about...

Pros: Seem to work well at the front of an aircraft
Cons: They hurt my ears and gave me a headache almost immediately.
The Bottom Line: Give them a shot if you regularly use in-the-ear earbuds.

Review: Just before a flight between Dallas and Detroit (a little less than 3 hours flight time) I purchased a set of Philips Active Noise Canceling in the ear earbuds (HN060) at Target because they were on clearance. The regular price was $49.99, they were...
