Best of the 2007 ATSC DVD Recorders

The Bottom Line: Hands down the best ATSC recorder I have tried and should do until stand alone high def recorders come out. Three hundred bucks well spent.
Review: This unit, purchased a couple of weeks ago, is the sixth ATSC DVD recorder I've owned in 2007. The first five went back; this one, at least so far, is a keeper.

Impressive recorder for DVD and DVR use

The Bottom Line: Lots of features in this DVD/DVR device. The manual is actually decent. Great step up from just a plain DVD recorder.

This Philips is Not A Screwdriver

The Bottom Line: Don't expect plug and play. Know your expectations prior to purchase. Be prepared to study. Have a tech savvy friend or patience with customer service if you're techphobic.

Loved the product, the 30 days it worked

The Bottom Line: It seems extremely hit or miss to me, since the product bugs clearly are not resolved. So good luck if you're a gambler.
Review: I did a lot of research (2-3 months) last spring before I found the dvdr I wanted. An HDD big enough and a DVD recorder to burn stuff. So I spent $300 and got the Phillips, a decent brand.

GOOD PRODUCT, BAD COMPANY POLICY

The Bottom Line: Good product, bad return policy. Stay away from this recorder and stay away from Philips.
Review: This is a good product. Functional and easy to use. I just happen to get a defective one. My complaint is not with the recorder but with Philips' return policy which in my opinion is dishonest.
