Product Review

Fun and useful

by   krnkw ,   Sep 21, 2004

Pros:  Blue-tooth GPS, long battery life

Cons:  Routes are not the best, sometimes locks up

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I purchased this system (to be used with my IPAQ 1945 bluetooth PDA) so I would not get lost on business trips.

I've used it probably a dozen times or more and find it really is VERY accurate (though the routes it suggests might not always be the best...MAPQUEST does it better). The mounting for the PDA is challenging to use, but once set-up works fine.

The bluetooth feature is what sold me on this. The mapping software is fairly simple to use, but it does require a fast processor in the PDA to be most useful. Also, make sure you copy the maps over to the internal memory (rather than a memory card - it crashes/locks too frequently otherwise).

A nice device to have if you travel a lot to unknown locations.
