The Best FPS Ever!

My Experience

During the time I owned this game, I would have to say it's the best game I've ever owned for my Nintendo 64. It has the capabilities to hold many weapons at one time. There are many enemies and levels to play in and they never seem to get boring for me. Even after I've beat Perfect Dark, I played for a long time. The best part of this game is the multiplayer capabilities. You can v.s. eachother or work together on a story mode. My favorite part of playing this game was with my friends and family in multiplayer fighting eachother. We used to play for a long time every day, I got really good at this game and I just couldn't stop playing.

Price

The price of this game has really gone down! When I bought this game it was up at $20. Now the game is down to $5! You can find it at any place that sells Nintendo 64 games, it is very popular!

Rating

This game has been rated "M - Mature". There are a few reasons for this rating. There is a decent amount of blood and gore. The blood that comes from you, enemies, or dead bodies lays through the whole level and stays there for a bit of the time. It is very easily seen and not really suitable for little kids. I would say this game should be rated "T - Teen" because it doesn't go into alot of detail on the blood and dead bodies, but I guess thats not up to me to say. Another reason this game was rated M is because of the swearing in the game. The main swear word in the game is "Sh*t" and "Da*n". They mainly say this in the video's and when they die. When someone dies they may say something like "Why me!" or "Oh Sh*t". The words in the game may not be suitable for people under the age of 16. Another reason this game was rated M is for the use of weapons. You can shoot many kinds of weapons ranging from knives to pistols, to rocket launchers. They do go into much detail on the guns and many little kids should not be learning about shooting others in my opinion.

Levels

This is one of the best parts of Perfect Dark. There are may different levels to choose from for example, The Complex, Facility, and The Pipes. The complex is one of my favorite levels for multiplayer games because it isn't a really big area where you can't find eachother but it's small enough where you don't have to spend more than about 20 seconds to find someone. There are quite a few rooms in it including about 10 sniper areas. The other 2 levels are a bit bigger than the complex. They have alot of places to hide, have open battles, and mess around in. There are small vents you can crawl around in and enjoy sneaking up on your enemies. Also you must be crouched down very low where you cannot run fast to go through the vents. Even though you cant go fast, it's worth it because it's one of the funnest parts of the levels. Even after trying out the top 3 levels in my opinion, there are many other fun levels to play on.

Weapons

There are only a few weapons on Perfect Dark that catch my eye. First of all my favorite, the Laptop gun. This gun is one of the funnest guns in the game. They can be held for shooting, you can also put this gun on the walls, ceilings, and floors to automatically shoot people when joining the room. Other guns are rocket launchers, pistols, grenade launchers, knives, and alot more. Also something really nice about this game is that you don't have to worry about running out of ammo. When your out of ammo you can whip people with your gun or throw the gun and start fist fighting. Fist fighting is really cool in this game, when you hit someone, their screen goes blurry for a certain amount of time. The more you hit someone with your fists, the blurrier their screen gets and the longer it stays that way. I really enjoy all they did for these guns becuase it was very creative. Another example of a really creative gun would be the rocket launcher. You can shoot it like normal and it will explode when it hits something or you can use the second option. You can make it so your able to control the bullet. When you shoot, you'll goto a different screen where you control the bullet. You can drive it around the whole level until you hit something.

Characters

This is awesome in the game. You can choose from about 20-30 characters or more! You can choose anything from girls to boys to cops and even aliens. The coolest character in my opinion is the one called "Elvis". He is a really short alien and he's so cool. When someone shoots at you, they actually have to shoot down to hit you. The characters are very fast and range in sex's, height, and ages.

Functions

This is what makes the game worth playing, the functions within it. You can set to highlight your team's, make it so 1 shot/hit kills enemies, and much more. It's fun to change these around and have fun playing the games different ways. You can also make your own games and save them. There is space in the game to create a game by choosing a level, guns, how many kills to win and what kind of game. (Kills, King of the hill, etc.) You can save up to 3 games using the game memory and more in the memory card if you have one. You can also make "profiles" for characters, like names, guns, looks, etc. and save them to the memory in the game. There is many functions within the game, you just have to test them. They are really fun!

Solo Mode

There is also a mode in this game that allows you to play solo in the 1 player rooms. You can do tests, gun ranges, and much more. This is a way to unlock special things in the game and make your gaming experience alot funner. So far that I know of, there are no cheats for this game. I actually like not having cheats because now you have to work for it! So much to do, so much fun.

Cleaning

This works for all Nintendo 64 games and it has never hurt any games I've done it to. It helps clean them so they work well and you can also do this to the machine to help it play games better. Instead of buying cleaners to clean it, you can spend 5 minutes and do it yourself for practically nothing. All you need is some common household items. Small piece of cotton, hand soap, and water. All you need to do is wet the cotton so it's not dripping wet but it's damp, then you rub it on the hand soap to get a decent amount of soap on it. (Not enough to fill any cracks in the game disc) Then you gently rub the chip and around the chip in the bottom of the game. You then need to get a clean cotton swab, wet it a little bit and clean out the soap. After that, let it sit until it's dry. (Shouldn't take long)
