Much better than .7mm version
Pros:
Stylish and sleek, good dark ink, inexpensive, smudge-resistant.
Cons:
Long dry time on coated papers, needs more colors.
The Bottom Line:
I'd absolutely recommend buying this pen to use all the time. The writing is dark , it doesn't leave clots of ink on the page, and the price is good.

Author's Review
This pen is inexpensive, though you have to purchase it (at least at my local store) in a pack with one red and one black pen. The pack of three different colors was only $4.00 - a decent value, considering how much I love these pens. Office Depot didn't sell them in bulk packs of 12 at my local store (though they do online) or I would have bought at least one bulk pack.
The pen design is awesome. Though it's blue instead of silver (like it's larger mm counterparts) it still looks very cool and stylish. The barrel is a silvery-blue, and there is a clear area on the barrel where you can see how much ink you have left (though that isn't entirely accurate - I'll think my pen is out, and it still keeps going and going).
The clip is metal, and though I usually end up breaking them off or bending them out of shape, I've not been able to do that with this one yet. The end of the pocket clip usually aggravates the skin between my thumb and middle finger when I'm writing, but this one is JUST short enough that it doesn't bother me. The way they folded over the end of the clip means it doesn't get stuck on pockets when you take it out.
The grip is smooth rubber, which I prefer. I don't like grips that have indents or grooves to help you hold them, since they usually aggravate my hand after writing for a while. This grip is perfectly smooth, yet it will not slip out of your hand. The grip area is narrower than the barrel - something I prefer - and it makes it easier for me to control the tip of the pen.
The tip of the pen is "needlepoint" which basically means it is very narrow where it sticks out from the barrel - the barrel doesn't taper down to the end of the point like on most pens. The best way to describe it is that it is similar to a lot of the mechanical pencils used for drafting. My experience with fine tipped pens has been that they are often scratchy (which just irritates me to no end) or that they tend to skip since the ink can't get out of the narrow tip. With the rollerball tip on this pen, I've not had any problems with scratching or skipping.
The ink color (on all three colors) is very good. It's nice and dark on paper, smudge-resistant (if you give it a bit to dry - coated papers take a lot longer). I use this smaller tip pen to write in my checkbook and anywhere I need to make sure my writing is small and legible. I love this pen, and it is currently my favorite for everything. It looks good on my scrapbooking pages, and on my grocery list (not that it matters there).
I would definitely recommend this pen - in any of the colors - to anyone. If .5mm is too small, this pen comes in a .7mm that is good for general use where you don't have to write small, and a .1mm that is personally too big for me.
