Smallest camera I could find.
Date of Review: Mar 31, 2003
The Bottom Line: Bottom line: This is a nice LITTLE camera. People with big hands may have problems. I love it so far.
This has to the smallest camera made while still keeping excellent photo quality. I have had no problems yet, although I only have had it for over a week. It survived a spring break week in Daytona. Battery life seemed to last quite long even with a lot of messing around on it and getting familiar with the settings. I imagine once I get used to the camera, battery life will be no problem. I would recommend getting an extra battery. It just makes sense if you plan to take pictures while on vacation or for extended periods.
I was trying to find the smallest camera I could find without going overboard on price or compromising features. I think I researched cameras for 3-4 months until I bought this.
It seems to be a good trade off between professional quality and size. You can over/under expose pictures, change the ISO setting, manually focus, change the focus area, change the metering are, and much more.
The only thing that would make this camera better is if it was more professional. I would like higher ISO 400, 600, etc. and more mega pixels. But that is not why I bought it. I have an expensive SLR to do all of that stuff.
Software has been very simple to use.
Construction is excellent. Made of metal, aluminum or SS, not sure which. Feels very solid, not plasticy like most other cameras. Only problem is battery door, feels flimsy.
I feel like I am going to break it.
