A sad ending to a good camera

Okay, this was my first digital camera but it had everything I needed. It took great pictures, had a nice size LCD screen, an optical viewfinder, and most importantly, it took movies. Very important for sharing online videos of my grandchildren! The more I used it, the more I learned about it and I was happy with every aspect. I didn't find the battery life low as has been reported by others but I did make sure I always had some rechargeables ready to go.

I bought this camera fourteen months ago and it failed on Halloween of this year. Suddenly all my pictures had white lines running vertically down them. I took it back to the camera store and was told I should have bought the extended warranty because the image driver had gone out. Cost of repair: $139. Original cost of camera: $199. I'm sad.
