Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ30 digital camera You may not need a dSLR

Date of Review:  Sep 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: The FZ30 has it all -- 12X image stabilized Leica zoom, 8 megapixels, and SLR like ergonomics
Review: The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ30 replaces the very popular FZ20. Panasonic's product development folks designed the FZ30 to include most of the improvements requested by users and all the best features of the FZ20.

What's New? How does the...

Wait, don't buy it yet !!

Date of Review:  May 8, 2006
The Bottom Line: Buy only if would 'never-ever' print more than 5x7 inches.
Review: In a digital SLR camera, you cannot see your views on the LCD screen before you take a photo. It is only after you take your photo that it apears on the LCD screen. Hence, a lot of imagination and prior thinking is required before you shoot your...

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 - an image quality perspective.

Date of Review:  Nov 25, 2005
The Bottom Line: I can recommend this camera for its features, good lens, and ergonomics, but only to users who don't need anything more than ISO 100.
Review: Introduction

I'm still in search of a digital camera to use as a backup to my film cameras. So far, nothing but the most expensive digital SLRs have been up to the task. Compact digital cameras above five megapixels take fine snapshots for...

Review: I moved up from a 4 megapixel Canon(G3). I've always owned Canon cameras and I was nervous to stray into new brands. I was considering the Rebel above all others. After reading EVERY review I could get my hands on, I decided to buy the Lumix. I...

Thats better!

Date of Review:  Nov 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: Superb handling, fast response with little or no shutter lag. Solid construction with a lovely 12X lens.
Review: I've recently been lucky enough to test a Fuji S9500 and a Panasonic FZ30.
Out of the two I've decided to buy the Panasonic. The main reasons are it's excellent build quality and more importantly, it's shooting performance.
I went out...

This Camera makes taking pictures Super FUN!

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2005
The Bottom Line: The best camera you can get for the money. Buy one and you'll be telling all your friends to get one too.
Review: I recently purchased a Panasonic FZ30K and I must say I am super happy with the camera and my choice. I won't bore you with the technicals (there are plenty of those reviews out there) but I will say what makes me love it so much and go over a few...

Functionality of a DSLR

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: Excellent for intermediate photographers who either want more flexibility, or want to eventually move up to DSLR.
Review: After having taken a few thousand images with this camera so far, I think I can easily recommend this camera to anyone who either is unsatisfied with their point and shoot camera, or is looking to move up to a DSLR but does not yet have either the...

Know your equipment, it's AWESOME!

Date of Review:  Apr 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera, and if you haven't taken a decent picture before, this will make you look like a pro!
Review: After researching and comparing this camera (fz30) with others in this price range and higher, I decided to buy the Panasonic DMC FZ30. After two weeks of picture takin' and putting the camera through some of it's many features, (it has features...

Great for an enthusiast

Date of Review:  May 28, 2006
Review: I was thinking about a Digital SLR replacement for my Good old Minolta, hoping that I can get some use for my lenses...
Tough luck, with Minolta never living to the expectations and pulling off the market.
Anyways, when facing the dilemma...

Very, Very Happy With This Purchase

Date of Review:  Feb 28, 2006
The Bottom Line: Take time to research this camera AND dSLRs. The main thing that sets this camera above cheap dSLRs is its many features. Small sensor but takes GREAT pics.
Review: Although the noise is very apparent as you increase its ISO speed, you can be sure that keeping it on ISO 80 or ISO 100 will keep its quality levels up to that of its rivals such as dSLRs. Keep in mind this is a bridge camera (a class between...
