Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 Digital Camera Rivals Canon SD800 IS

by   dkozin , lead in Electronics at Epinions.com ,  Nov 14, 2006
Pros: Excellent battery life, effective image stabilization, low price, image quality, wide angle, size
Cons: Noise a bit high, black case affected by smudges, LCD washes out in sunlight
The Bottom Line: I like the Panasonic FX07 and would choose it over the comparable Canon SD800 IS based on features, performance and price. For now, I am...
Review: I have enjoyed using the 6 -Megapixel Panasonic FX01 and now have a chance to use the 7.2-Megapixel Panasonic FX07. The FX07 is similar to the C anon SD800 IS: it has compact design, ...

DMC-FX7: The best ultra-compact digicam so far....

by   skagen ,  Mar 8, 2005
Pros: - Best-in-class image/lens quality - Superb LCD screen - Ergonomics & classy design
Cons: - On/off button protection - No "super-fine" JPEG - Price!! - Battery tad small
The Bottom Line: Has best image quality in the ultra-compact point & shoot class. I bet even professionals would pick this, if they wanted a pocket camera. Yet is very easy to use.
Review: Context: I have owned several very compact digicams (digital cameras) before this, including the Casio QV-R40 and the Pentax Optio S4. I generally buy only very small (ultra-compact) digicams, because my usage pattern is that I need the ...

An appealing camera... not perfect, but very good

by   rsilverst ,  Nov 28, 2006
Pros: Useful scene modes, good battery life, excellent feel and look and interface.
Cons: Noise performance could be better. Flash can be a little strong up close.
The Bottom Line: Excellent for anyone who is looking for a compact tool to handle a wide variety of situations. I encourage people to consider it before making other more "obvious" choices.
Review: I purchased this camera after considering models by Canon (SD800) and Fuji (F30, mainly). There were several things that led me to choose Panasonic. First, I felt that the feel of this camera was better than any of its competition. The Fuji was larger ...

Great "Shirt Pocket Shooter"

by   fuhnahtik ,  Jul 2, 2005
Pros: Leica Lens, Lithium Ion Battery, Easy to use;layout, great picture quality.
Cons: $400 retail is a bit high in my opinion.
The Bottom Line: My Fiance Loves It! A Great Choice!
Review: As an owner of a Pentax Optio S, I was quite skeptical at first. My Fiance fell "in love" with this camera, almost immediately. The image quality was amazing, the motion video (something I'm not interested in, but tried out anyway) looks quite good ...

Absolutely Phenomenal.

by   tiregroove ,  Jun 28, 2005
Pros: The huge screen, Leica lens, vastly superior image quality, easy use, durability, portablilty.
Cons: Battery life, but that's addressed in the next model. No manual image controls.
The Bottom Line: It's like having a miniature Leica in your pocket. The size of a cellphone with superior quality and ease of use.
Review: My background is an amateur studio photographer, I grew up with film. I'm also a tech geek, I like to explore all of the camera's options. I never use a camera's onboard flash, I always shoot using available lighting. I take a camera everywhere I go. ...

Great Camera

by   jimbear14 ,  Mar 30, 2007
Pros: Small, easy to use, great battery life
Cons: pixeled pictures at digital zoom.
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent camera for all situations and for anyone to use.
Review: I have owned the Panasonic Lumix FZ10 for several years, but it is quiet bulky and large. It's great for taking fancy picture but not fun to stick in your pocket during a birthday dinner or other fun event. Because I was already fond of the ...

Pros: ease of use, picture and video quality, ultra-compact size
Cons: wrist strap installation

Pros: many features, small size, durable, great picture quality, many extras.
