Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 Digital Camera

I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 from B&H Photo in New York City. I use the camera as an everyday accessory to capture everything and anything of importance including my children, my remodeling project and artistic excursions.

I am extremely happy with the camera. It takes absolutely gorgeous pictures for its resolution with depth and definition of digital SLRs. The lens is crisp and accurate and the chipset reproduces color accurately without the brittle artifacts that mar many digital cameras. The display is large and very useful even without a viewfinder. Operation is simple and well thought out and the controls are well placed.

Battery life is exceptional. In fact, the lifespan is so long, I'm wondering if there's some secret auxiliary power supply that allows this camera to not have to be recharged for months!

I also how found this camera to be very durable unlike some of the other reviewers. I fell down, ON THE CAMERA, while it was in my pocket, and thought it was "a goner." Nope. Survived 190 lbs of force like a champ, and is never got a scratch or a dent.

The only drawback of this camera is its performance in low light situations where it suffers. The flash is not very versatile as well, and can easily over-expose an image if the optimal distance is not met.
