Great TV for an entry level price!

During our hunt for the most TV for our dollar we arrived at the Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50 inch TV. Outside the Pioneer Kuro Plasma which cost a grand or so more, this Panasonic model was the best TV.

Although this set is only 1080i/720p, the picture quality is awesome. Much better than the Sony XBR CRT tv that it replaced. Don't buy into the marketing hype of 1080p. There will not be any broadcast in 1080p for the foreseeable future. Only Blu-Ray and some HD-DVD players (DEAD FORMAT) offer 1080p. Also for a 50 inch TV, you can not tell the difference between 720p and 1080p outside of 10 foot viewing area which is exactly our case. Very few time are we withing 10 feet while watching TV and could not justify the additional cost for such a very small gain.

Also remember that a great 720p TV like this will out perform many cheaper 1080p sets. There are many factors that make a great picture quality for TVs and this set has them. Rich and vibrant colors, good contrast, and real good dark black levels make the picture fantastic on this set.

I would recommend this TV to family and friends because it delivers great picture quality for a really good price. Standard TV broadcast look decent and the HD content is beautiful. Sporting events in HD look Awesome.

One last advice, go for a professional wall mounting of this TV. Our TV looks very sleek and beautiful mounted on the wall.
