Superb Picture Quality and Reasonable Price

by   skarekat ,  May 11, 2007
Pros: Excellent picture quality, good sound, lotsa connections, 4" deep, reasonable price
Cons: No PIP, no PC input, clunky remote & menu
The Bottom Line: Don't pay hundreds/thousands extra for 1080p. This 1080i set will satisfy most users and is one of the best plasma sets out there on the market.
Review: Panasonic TH-50PX60U Review After researching and wanting to buy a 42” Plasma TV for more than 2 years, I finally took the plunge and went in for the Panasonic TH-50PX60U. Why Amazon? The Amazon price, though not the lowest, was very ...

Death Knell for Plasma? Highly Exaggerated! This Panny Matches CRT Quality

by   mkelch ,  May 31, 2006
Pros: This plasma helps CRT-lovers get CRT picture quality in a big-screen size.
Cons: Poor remote-control,no backlighting, button labels printed onto case, not onto button faces
The Bottom Line: A very good picture quality. Brings CRT-grade performance into larger-screen territory. Wall-mount option very appealing. Sound quality is fine for most applications. Remote could be better.
Review: "Reports of my demise are highly exaggerated".... A few years ago, plasma TVs were out of most people's budgetary reach. They "burned-in" (or so the story went), they ran hot, had poor black levels, and relatively small screen sizes compared to ...

Help for your TH-50PX60U picture settings

by   jhf2u ,  Nov 2, 2006
Pros: Picture, Size and overall quality
Cons: Remote isn't illuminated, Other than that this T.V. is perfect
The Bottom Line: Best bang for the buck, and best overall picture quality than T.V.'s costing thousands of dollars more.
Review: I bought this T.V. after months and months of research. I have found a company that did an in-depth review of this awesome Plasma and they used some of the best software available to come up with the absolute best picture settings possible. Here they ...

Not too shabby, Boy....

by   youngdoog ,  Nov 22, 2006
Pros: Perfect picture right out of the box.
Cons: As expected, digital reception is acceptable, but no better than many other televisions.
The Bottom Line: I chose a known brand-Panasonic-rather than the LG and Visio type brands. So far, it's a slam dunk television. The party's on in Las Vegas-at my house.
Review: The title is a reference to a saying that my very best friend-over 50 years-uses to describe something exceptional. A Massachusetts thing, I guess. And the Panasonic 50 incher qualifies. I ordered the set direct from Amazon.com, and received it a ...

I had no idea what I was missing

by   rthomp ,  Jun 23, 2006
Pros: Outstanding picture and sound quality. great bang for the buck.
Cons: Remote isn't up to the same level as the TV.
The Bottom Line: If you're on the fence about plasma, get off and get one. Look around for what looks good to you. But I looked at 'em all, and nothing came close.
Review: I've had a 61" rear-projection CRT Sony for the last 5 years, and I love it. It's huge, but the picture quality is fantastic and it's been 100% trouble-free. It's the workhorse; 90% of the TV-watching done in our house is done on it, and it's also the ...

Chocolate Pudding Good!

by   trihonda ,  Jun 6, 2007
Pros: Picture quality and durability.
Cons: Silver housing
Review: I will spare all the techie specs and reviews, as I'm not inclined to spend an hour re-listing them (as others already did that for me). I have to say this TV is awesome! The color and picture are amazing. I did a lot of research and checked this TV ...

great picture!

by   grold ,  May 11, 2006
Pros: picture
Cons: large stand
Review: This is a great TV! I am very happy. It won best pic on Consumer Reports. When friends come over, they all want one. The only downside is all the technological know-how that you need to create the best picture (for ANY HDTV). If you are not willing ...

For the price, you can't beat it

by   symiakos ,  Mar 21, 2007
Pros: No glare distraction in bright room. Enough ports to accommodate HDMI, Component and Composite inputs
Cons: Video selects don't allow one to spell their own descriptions.
Review: Have it suspended on an articulating wall mounted bracket in the brightest room - picture clarity is perfect. Folks have commented on its remote control. One hardly uses it. If you own a TV, you're usually using your cable remote or your surround sound ...

Whatta deal

by   fixthat ,  Mar 12, 2007
Pros: Price on sale below $2000, Color good out of the box
Cons: Screen sizing, cropping, letterboxing not always automatic, Audio outputs not controlled by volume control
The Bottom Line: Good picture, enough plugs for most
Review: So far so good, for a beginner. This was a decision of the chicken before the egg. My Satellite is promising more HD soon, and the big box store had a sale. Not that I bought it there, but the local RexTV has a price match policy. Color was good ...

Almost there except for a few quirks

by   Slavsta ,  Feb 3, 2006
Pros: See body
Cons: See body
The Bottom Line: Definitely get it if you don't care about iPod integration, read this review first if you do. But, Pioneer does even worse in that area.
Review: The system setup: IVA-D310R (European version) DHA-S680P DVD-changer TME-M770S 6.5" Touchscreen Monitor (Rear) KCA-420i iPod interface PXA-H701 Multimedia Manager Rear View Camera Alpine Amps, Speakers, Sub - 5.1 setup Overall, a nicely ...
