Not As Advertised

Panasonic markets this phone as Long Range, Clear Sound. Well, they must be talking about a different phone. I was stupid enough to buy this statement and acquired the base station plus additional 3 handsets. Beyond 60 feet the handset simply does not communicate with the base station. Two phone handsets can not have an intercom conversation even if they are in direct line of sight.

The sound quality is also not as advertised. I found it hard to hear the caller and all my hand sets are set at the highest volume. This is also true for intercom calls. Sound is not that good.

Overall, I am very disappointed. I am a second time Panasonic buyer but this will probably be my last. I had a 2.4Mhz 4-line, 8 handset system before. For some reason, after a year of use all the handsets started to loose '1' bottom functionality. I'd press 1 and nothing happened. I had to buy new hand sets. Some of these also died after a year. Now, I can't even get new handsets to work with this older system. Hence, I had no choice but buying a new one. This by itself is very annoying.

Still, after much research I came to the conclusion that Panasonic is the brand I want to continue with. Now, I am disappointed again when a 'GigaRange' device apparently means no more than 30 feet and one wall.
