Not a great experience

I replaced a 15 year old Mitsubishi (25") that was starting to look pretty green. Decided on a 27" flat screen and went to look at my options. The Panasonic, JVC, and Sony were all in same price range, with the Sony slightly more expensive. Decided on the Panasonic (salesman recommended it) and took it home.

The panasonic is nicely styled, great remote (everything on screen), but it has one major problem with the picture. In areas of high contrast (dark and bright areas), there is a glow around the dark areas. I'm a big hockey fan and this showed up badly with the sticks and puck on the bright ice surface with a glow surrounding the sticks and puck. Also,on darker faces with alot of light on them, there was a similar glowing effect. I played with the settings but just couldn't get rid of that effect (the velocity scan modulation actually seemed to make it worse).

After two weeks of playing with it, I took it back and replaced it with the JVC. The JVC doesn't have that problem.
