If you want an Upconvert DVD player, and haven't purchased a digital surround system yet - then this is the set up for you!
I was on a budget for a new surround system, and wanted an upconvert DVD player to go with my new plasma TV. This set features a HDMI output for upconverting DVDs for HDTVs.
I paid $315.99 at a sale at Best Buy, and was amazed that the digital sound exceeded that of my former RCA DTS system that I had paid over $700 four years before.
The 5 disc carousel was a great option, as I can pop in DVDs that come with multiple discs in the set, and I don't have to get up and change the disc during the night.
The navigation system on the Player itself is great. The player will always remember where you were on each disc, even after you've had the power turned off for a few days. Set up for the player is very user friendly.
The remote is fine, but I'm a little confused with some of the buttons on the bottom. The average consumer may have some learning curve with this remote.
HDMI output to my Toshiba 42HP66 Plasma is amazing. My favorite new demo disc is Batman Begins.
This is a great set for a great price. Pick it up today!
