Great sounding headphones with some major hangups
Date of Review: Apr 12, 2005
The Bottom Line: Poorly designed earpieces make this item one to avoid.
I recently picked up a pair of these headphones at FutureShop. I had been looking for a good quality set for use with my new iPod Mini. I had used the stock white earbud headphones and bought a cheapie set that had an ear clip, but neither of them satisfied me. I was looking for a pair with comfortable ear clips and neckband styling.

What I liked
The sound quality of these headphones blew away the other headphones I had tried. The sound is crisp and clear, the bass is well pronounced. I am by no means an audio expert, but they sound pretty good to me. The headphones can be worn in both behind the neck and over the head fashions. They also come with an extra long cord, which is good and bad, depends on how you are using them. The ear cups around the speaker are pretty comfortable and they block out pretty much all outside sound, so you can be immersed in the music. The headphones are adjustable, so people with varying sizes of head should be able to wear these. Also, aesthetically, they are a pretty cool looking set of headphones.
What I didn't like
The biggest downfall of these headphones is the ear pieces. They are large plastic pieces that hooks over your ear when listening to them with the behind the neck configuration. I found them to be very uncomfortable compared to other headphones of this style I have worn. You can opt not to use them when wearing them behind the neck, but they block part of the speaker, so your ear doesn't have the same seal to the speaker as with them on. The same issue is there when wearing them over the head. This makes the headphones uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Another small thing about these headphones is they are a tad bulky, but that's a preference thing alot of the time.
In the end I ended up taking the headphones back. I was looking for something that I can wear for a long period of time while at work or doing stuff around the house. The sound quality was great, but it didn't outweigh the comfort factor. I don't know if it's just my head/ear shape that was the issue, but the earclip did seem rather poorly designed in comparison to others on the market.
