Who Said Headphones Had to be Expensive to Sound Good?

The Bottom Line: Overall I am very pleased with the Panasonic RP HG20 Headphones.
For some reason, I don't really know why, I go through stereo headphones at a rapid clip. To date all of my headphones tended to have cloth speakers, which ma explain why they down last more than a year on my head. While the speakers still work on all of models I own, its not fun feeling cold medal next to your skin.
So I recently went in search of a new pair of inexpensive headphones that offered plastic leather-like feeling ear-piece coverings, decent bass response, respectable mid-range and treble, and the ability to be worn on the back of the neck as well as on top of the head. Brand mattered far less than price, form and functionality. So off to the local Fry's Electronics I went and one hour later I emerged with the Panasonic RP HG20 Headphones.
The RP HG20 Headphones are nothing special really, they are inexpensive, light weight decent sounding headphone wrapped in an attractive black and bright blue package. With prolonged use however the headphones do start to get heavy on the ears, whether they are sitting on top of my head or behind my ears.
And speaking of behind the ears wearing, the design for this functionality is rather quirky. Each earpiece is fitted with a crescent moon shaped plastic piece that hooks the ears and allows the headphones to rest on the back of your neck. It works but just barely; quite frankly I have sent this functionality executed better, but my immediate purposes I have no real complaints.
The RP HG20 Headphones do a decent job at minimizing outside noises; the earpieces fit rather snuggly. The cord length is respectable, and though meant for walkman-type audio equipment, the unit does ship with a 6.3mm adapter plug for use with receives.
Overall I am very pleased with the Panasonic RP HG20 Headphones and I would defiantly recommend them to anyone looking for an inexpensive, decent sounding pair of earpieces.
