Good - if you are good with gadgets
Pros:
Very Easy setup, clear reception, easy to use.
Cons:
Some commands take too many menu clicks. Seemingly buggy software.
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this to the a friend if - as long as they were as competent with computers as I am.

Purchased this one week ago. Chose it because I've had good luck with Cingular/AT&T and did not want to change carriers.
The choice was made by access to the "3G" network, which is not yet active in Pittsburgh. The other 3G models were the Blackjack and the AT&T phone. The blackjack looks very cheap next to the Palm and the slide-out keyboard was a huge turn-off for the AT&T phone. I also looked at the RIM Curve, which was very enticing; it just did not have the 3G capabilities.
The setup was amazingly simple. I've worked with Window's since the inception & this is a logical extension of Windows. If you are OK with XP, this should be easy for you as well. After the smooth use of XP on my PC I was surprised at how Buggy the Mobile Windows 5.0 is. In the first week, I had issues with Email freezing, nav / quiet buttons not responding. At any point, a soft reset fixed it - it just amazes me that you cannot power the phone off (you can turn the phone off, but the organizer / media player are still on). If they would have designed it to allow me to power down each night, the restart in the AM would have fixed all of these issues. My first impression - Windows Mobile 5.0 is akin to Windows 98. Maybe 6.0 solves these issues - I don't even know if I can upgrade.
For the past 4 days, I have started the day with a soft-reset and have had no issues. I would rather know to restart it than have a function of the phone not work while on a call.
Functionality - it is great having all of my email, tasks, calendar entries and text messages all in one place. I was amazed at how simple it was to pull together everything & have it coupled with my cell-phone. I really cannot see going back to a regular phone at this point.
Once I had the bugs under control, this phone has been a pleasure to work with.
