A great phone, still hampered by Palm cable

The Palm Treo 750 (my version is from AT&T formerly Cingular) is the latest in a line of very successful smart phones which combine a Windows Windows Mobile V. 5.0 based personal organizer with a cell phone. This model hides the antenna within the body of the phone which makes for a sleek body. The phone features a small, but highly useable QWERTY keyboard that is accessed primarily by thumb-typing. The primary advantage of the Microsoft operating system is that it should be easily sync'ed with desktop versions of Microsoft Outlook. However, the included wireless sync software is only compatible with specially installed corporate server software written for Microsoft Exchange Server, which is unsuitable for individual users such as myself. Also the phone is hampered by the widely criticized Palm USB cable connector. Nine in ten sync attempts using this cable fail because of a poorly designed cable connector at the bottom of phone. Included Bluetooth sync is more successful, but extremely complicated to configure, and very slow. Bluetooth synchronization should only be attempted by highly advanced users. The operating system also suffers from a faulty "OK" button which does not actually close open applications. The applications continue to run in the background consuming system resources until the phone is manually reset by removing the battery. This makes the phone functions run very slowly unless the system is reset frequently.
