Oster 6325 2 slice toaster-GREAT

Our Krups 2-slice toaster died after 3-4 years and we were dismayed to find that most toasters do not accommodate long slices of bread, although many advertise the ability to toast wide items, such as bagels. After several weeks of ardent searching and reading reviews of seemingly hundreds of toasters, we found this Oster at Fry's for under $30. It has the 2 features we consider mandatory - toasting frozen waffles the first time & accommodating deli-length bread. Niceties which we did not have on the Krups are the toast lift, which allows you to get to the toasted bread or waffles without burning your fingers; the "frozen" button for defrosting waffles, for instance; and a "cancel" button, which then pops your food item up automatically.

Other toasters we've had did not toast frozen waffles evenly. The waffles also would be soggy around the edges and you had to toast them a second time. The crumb tray is easily removed and emptied. Unlike our previous toasters, crumbs do not fall out of the toaster when you move it for storage. We haven't used the toaster for bagels so we cannot comment on the toaster's ability to toast only one side of the bagel, which is the preferred method.

The only thing we do not like but which we can live with is the stainless steel finish which shows fingerprints. Not a big deal because we do not leave the toaster out in the open but others may not like having to wipe down the outside frequently.

We have had the toaster for 3 months and use it almost every day. This is the best toaster we have ever had! We didn't even know that we could like a toaster, but if yours dies, this would be a good replacement.
