It's a Cell! It's a germ! No..it's Osmosis Jones!

by   whisper4me ,  Oct 5, 2001
Pros: Full of gross, goofy humor, any little boy's dream movie!
Cons: A little icky for moms.
The Bottom Line: A wonderful movie to go see in theaters or on video. Spread the word Osmosis Jones is back in town!
Review: I took my son to this movie, he chose it and after 15 mins it was easy to see why. The gross body humor, the many interesting characters milling about, and even some explosions going on inside this poor guy's body made this exciting and funny at the same...

This film surprised me

by   tabacco ,  Apr 19, 2002
Pros: Well-voiced, good animation, reasonably intelligent humor.
Cons: Occasionally resorts to 'gross-out' jokes
The Bottom Line: Assuming you don't mind the occasional gross part, go for it by all means! It's a great movie.
Review: I didn't see this one in the theater. I hadn't heard great things about it. But Finally I gave in and rented it, and boy was I surprised. The casting for the animated characters was perfectly done. I had no problems picturing William Shatner as the...

A tough cell for Warner Brothers

by   scott29 ,  Nov 20, 2001
Pros: Colorful animation sequences and a clever script.
Cons: Graphic gross-out gags flop in the live-action arena.
The Bottom Line: Just because a movie makes no money, that doesn't mean it stinks. Usually, it's just the opposite.
Review: While it's certainly not among the best movies of the year, Osmosis Jones is not a film that deserved to end up $60 million dollars in the hole. I suppose the end product proved to be a tough sell for Warner Brothers, but I suspect this one will...

His Name's Jones: Osmosis Jones

by   MattA75 ,  Aug 12, 2001
Pros: fabulous casting, a delightfully evil Fishburne
Cons: the live action scenes lack an awful lot
The Bottom Line: Osmosis Jones is a fine animated feat...just try to stay awake through the live action scenes.
Review: When one thinks of the Farrelly brothers, they inevitably think about some of the grossest scenes in movie history. The beer bottle in Dumb and Dumber, the "hair gel" in There's Something About Mary, and the infamous "it wasn't for me, it...

Celling Out

by   jeffdaddy ,  Aug 11, 2001
Pros: Superb script. Awesome animation.
Cons: The live action isn't as good as the animation.
The Bottom Line: Inventive, non-stop fun. One of Summer 2001's best surprises.
Review: Summer movies like Osmosis Jones are far too rare treats. Ones that are actually creative and brilliant. Ones that spring forth from the sperm of a unique idea rather than a marketing angle. Ones that artists come up with and pursue rather than...

Organic chemistry

by   scigamer ,  Nov 26, 2001
Pros: inventive visual world, animation, voice talent, screenplay
Cons: horrible live action sequences, Bill Murray
The Bottom Line: Osmosis Jones showcases a rich vibrant world and witty comedy that is overlooked due to box-office numbers
Review: Osmosis Jones is classified as one of those rare animated films that gain little acceptance due to the fact that it’s not the candy coated general commercial material that Disney promotes with every animated feature they produce.Warner Bros...

Osmosis has balls

by   str1derv7 ,  Jul 31, 2002
Pros: Top-Notch animation, great idea
Cons: Gets slow at times as well as a little confusing
The Bottom Line: Great animation but suffers from slow parts and too many concepts slammed into an hour and a half film.
Review: Osmosis Jones came out a while ago and received little attention/acclaim/box offic money. This is a realy shame since I hate it when animated flix that aren't targeted specifically at kids don't do well, which doesn't let other films like that get made....

OSMOSIS JONES a comedy with guilty pleasures

by   SKAD13 ,  Aug 5, 2001
Pros: Bill Murray at his gross-funniest; superb animation sequences
Cons: The Farrelly Bros.' trademark grossness
The Bottom Line: It delivers the laughs. However, it's a Farrelly Bros. movie, so you've been warned.
Review: Nobody does sloppy better than Bill Murray. In most comedies, the point of the gag is how some normal guy is mortified at being the victim of some gross-out. But Murray plays Everyslob at such a low level to begin with that nothing can shock him. Just...

Body Language

by   sussmanbern ,  Aug 7, 2001
Pros: Very clever animation & storyline.
Cons: Not for small children or anyone with fastidious taste.
The Bottom Line: A mix of Lethal Weapon and Fantastic Voyage, with a bit of Roger Rabbit thrown in. Very funny. And tasteless.
Review: Remember FANTASTIC VOYAGE? Remember INNER SPACE? About the goings on inside a human body. Well, they were practically university courses compared to OSMOSIS JONES.

OSMOSIS JONES is part live action, part animated cartoon, worked up...

You'll never look at the body the same way again.

by   princsstrish ,  Nov 27, 2001
Pros: Great voice over artists
Cons: cliched...but then again, that's the fun part..
The Bottom Line: Entertaining, funny, well scripted animated movie. The Farrelly Brothers have done it again!!!
Review: I rented this movie on DVD because it was a Farrelly Brothers movie. I am a big fan of all of their movies. I wasn't expecting anything outrageous but some mild entertainment. I watched this movie at least 4 times in the weekend I had it.
