Flimsy battery compartment cover, breaks easily

This radio has the flimsiest battery compartment cover latch that I've ever encountered in any portable audio device. I worried about the obvious fragility of the tiny plastic latch when I first put the batteries in. My fears were confirmed when I dropped the radio about two feet onto a carpeted floor. The battery compartment popped open and the latch went flying off, irreparably broken with small pieces of plastic hanging loose. I've had to duct-tape the battery cover back on, and it still feels loose.

What is supposed to be a "rugged" product should be able to withstand being dropped two feet onto carpet. I've seen an iPod dropped onto bare concrete from several feet above the ground without damage. I would not recommend that anyone buy this product for portable use.
