The Cast:

Christina Ricci plays the step sister whom is pregnant by her deceased step dad.
Martin Donovan plays the gay half brother trying to do right by her and offers her a place to stay.
Lisa Kudrow Is the best friend whom is secretly in love with Martin Donovan. And questions Christina Riccis motives. Fearing she will destroy his life.

Step father molested his step daughter and when he dies she goes off to live with her half brother. Knowing he is a soft touch and would never turn her away. Her only real problem for the moment is she's pregnant and needs to acquire a father for her baby.

While the half brother is at school teaching his sister is digging her claws into his man. Seducing her half brother's lover into bed the girl eventually informs him to his new staying of fatherhood.

The tale is a dysfunctional twist of love, hate, lies, truths, and misunderstandings. Though the girl's sole intent is to rectify her rebellious ways and settle down with her child. Her lies generate upheavals and forms new loves.

This comedy is a even pace film narrated by the step sister. As much as you want to hate her, you feel for her situation, and hope in the end she'll do what's right.

The opposite of sex is an enlightening viewing. You are never certain whether to laugh or cry. Interesting would be a understatement for this movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Though it's not the high octane action pack thrillers I gravitate toward. It beat another rerun on the tube.
