Pros: 4 HDMI INputs, 90w x 7.1, dts-HD Master Audio/TrueHD 5.1/6.1/7.1, Audyssey 2EQ / Dynamic EQ
Cons: Limited AVR installation due to generated heat (Warning Label Provided) otherwise nothing else.
The Bottom Line: You could spend more, especially if you want 7.1 Analog INputs! Otherwise, the Onkyo TX-SR606 is by far the BEST Performance vs. Price 7.1 AVR right now!!!

Pros: Faroudja 1080i upconversion, Blu-ray compatible, strong amps, sturdy construction, Audyssey setup, price
Cons: Bad remote, small display
The Bottom Line: Again Onkyo takes the features of a competitor's $800 receiver and makes it available for a LOT less.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Onkyo's stellar reputation is upheld by the 606. It offers a lot of features and performance at a reasonable price. Read on to learn why.
Styling of the TX-SR606 is nothing to write home about. It is a big receiver in terms of height -- I... |

Pros: Large number and type of conections.
Powered or line level Zone 2. High quality sound. Cons: Poor video upconversion.
The Bottom Line: Great receiver for basic multi-room and/or 7.1 audio, but not for the videophile needing digital upconversion!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This receiver does a nice job of handling all my A/V inputs and outputs with lots of complicated wiring schemes. The huge number of connections allows for lots of flexibility and options.
I was surprised to see an on-screen menu pop up... |

Pros: Good HDMI Switching, lots of features
Cons: It doesn't work, poor sound quality
The Bottom Line: Due to the non-functional Component IN's and poor sound quality, I could not recommend this product.

Review: The TX-SR606 is chock full of features. Up-scaling video to 1080i, up-converting output to HDMI. We bought it for the HDMI switching and to eliminate over half of the cables hanging from our Sony LCD, which it did fantastically. If only it would...

Pros: Easy to set-up, superb sound, excellent value
Cons: You cannot rename inputs on the front display
The Bottom Line: I cannot believe how they do this for the price.

Review: I have had home cinema kit for many many years now, even investing in the likes of Meridian processors which costs loads of money. Then I settled on a Pioneer VSX-D2011 which did everything I needed for almost three years. With all the new sound...

Pros: great video Upscaling .
Cons: Unit gets a bit hot (even when not being used)

Review: I bought a close out TX-SR605 but was unhappy about the lack of Upscalingh. The 605 covered all the basics, but did not fill the entire tv screen when converting a component viedo input signal to HDMI output. I was able to return the unit and pick...
