#1 on my list of Most Underrated Guitar (Rock) Albums of the Last 25 Years

Pros: Amazing sylistic depth and replayability; technical skill has never been better
Cons: Flea sings; too vulgar to share with my kids
The Bottom Line: This is a sonically exciting album that needs to be heard several times in order to learn, then love, the music.
Review: I must admit, I have never been a Chili Peppers fan. With the exception of their brilliant cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" (from their 1989 album Mother's Milk), I'd always found something lacking in their music. The guitar playing seemed...

2nd Best Chili Album ever

Pros: Every track rocks; abundance of great, real rocking; variety to every single track
Cons: One Big Mob is only "really good" instead of being "superb"
The Bottom Line: This album is underrated, and it's a shame for everyone that's missing out on its greatness. Rock on Red Hot Chili Peppers!
Review: Although many may disagree with that statement, that "One Hot Minute" is the Red Hot Chili Pepper's second best CD (Next to their ground-breaking Blood Sugar Sex Magik), I have to think this is true. This CD is not only fantastic to listen to, but I ...

Sixty-One Hot Minutes

Pros: Brings out the best of RHCP musically; alternative hard rock that's twisted and psychadelic
Cons: Not their most accessible album; fans of Californication probably won't like it
Review: After guitarist John Frusciante decided he'd had enough red hot fun for a lifetime and left Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1992, Dave Navarro was eventually brought in as a replacement. During Navarro's time in RHCP, the group recorded One Hot...

Not Peppers, but still good

Pros: Unique, exciting, experimental
Cons: Not comparable with other Chili Peppers recordings
The Bottom Line: Buy it, you won`t get anything similar to that recording!!!
Review: "One Hot Minute" was the first Chili Peppers album I got and I still think of it as the best one. Despite the bad reputation of this album, I consider it the best Chili Peppers album ever made. Why? I`m trying to explain it to you: As far as I know, the ...

One Hot Minute makes one hot album. |
|||
|
Pros: Possibly RHCP's best outing to date, rivalled only by Bloodsugarsexmagik.
Cons: A little TOO overtly experimental at times.
The Bottom Line: -
Review: One hot band. Four hot musicians. One hot replacement guitarist.
Alternately contemplative and amorous vocalist Anthony Keidis, virtuoso bassist Flea, and drummer Chad Smith were pretty much up the creek without a paddle once Red Hot Chili... |

A new side to the Chili Peppers

|
Pros: Flea's amazing talents on the bass guitar
Cons: Not as catchy as most Red Hot Chili Peppers albums
Review: The most notable thing about "One Hot Minute" is how different it sounds to all their other albums. The reason for this is that Dave Navarro, from Jane's Addiction" recorded the guitars for this album. John Frusciante, the guitarist on...

Pros: Unique, which basically stands for what the Peppers represent
Cons: Lost die-hard Pepper fans; gained a whole new generation of Pepper fans
The Bottom Line: BUY IT!!! BUY IT!!!!! BUY IT!!!!!
Review: After guitarist John Frusciante left the band, they didn't have to look far for a replacement. The Peppers sought Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. It took the Peppers a little over a year to complete their next album, One Hot Minute.

A Highly under rated Piece of Art

Pros: Funky Bass lines and awesome different sounds for the Peppers
Cons: No John Fruschiante
Review: This album, even though the least favorite of most Peppers fans is highly under rated. It is just because John Fruschiante, their guitarist isn't on this album. Instead, Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction is there in his place. Fruschiante's rapid style...

RHCP was high as an "Aeroplane" |
|||
|
Pros: Aeroplane, Pea, Warped, and a few others
Cons: Strange tempos, drug induced hazes
The Bottom Line: Not the best album by far of an illustrious career, One Hot Minute proves to be buyable for dedicated fans only.
Review: The Red Hot Chili Peppers have had their share of ups and downs. The ups usually involved making great music. The downs always revolve around heroin.
Two members have remained with the Peppers since they formed in Los Angeles... |

Music Is My Aeroplane |
|||
|
Pros: Creative music and lyrics;
"Transcending"
Cons: Didn't live up to expectations for a lot of people
The Bottom Line: One Hot Minute could use some more RHCP funkiness, but they make up for it with excellent rock.
Review: The Red Hot Chili Peppers had a tough assignment: create a successful follow up to their huge smash, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Many say they failed, but I see One Hot Minute as a very good album that just couldnÂ’t live up to its predecessor....
