David Bowie's detailed and fascinating cyber world.

by   pwhitelegg ,  Nov 9, 2000
Pros: Immerses you in a totally believable new world
Cons: The bladerunneresque setting is getting a bit hackneyed
Review: One of the main qualities of a computer game is the ability to transport you from your everyday world into a new one which is only limited by a human's imagination. For this world to be believable you have to have as much freedom as possible to eat,sleep...

Why this game has gotten mixed reviews

by   Zirdo ,  Sep 9, 2000
Pros: Vast, vast, vast world to explore (vast), interesting storylines, adult content rather than pandering to children
Cons: Why can't I sit in that damn chair? Unreadable fonts
Review: Okay, so Omikron got mixed reviews. I mean, before I picked up this game I went around to as many places as I could (not just Gamepro, but also Antaganist on AOL, Cheat Central, and a few others)... and the results were so mixed I had to see what the...

Could have, would have, didn't.

by   skyth ,  Jul 10, 2000
Pros: graphics; interesting game play
Cons: lame story setting; can't read that junk!
Review: Eidos comes forward with a game highly reminiscent of Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver, except they put you in a futuristic world and throw in some RPG for the casual gamer. Omicron is a good example of a game that could have easily been incredible, but...

Too much, in too little

by   Armageddon ,  Jul 15, 2000
Pros: New plot, hand to hand mode
Cons: Shooting modeand graphics
Review: When i first saw this game at my best buys ( when it was in its pc version), i was interested, but never ended up buying it. When it finally came to dreamcast, i thought to myself that it would be a good time to try it out. Well, even though the game...

Omikron the Nomad Soul

by   Segagamer ,  Jul 11, 2000
Pros: Deep story, Great Futuristic city
Cons: Control blows. game pauses alot
Review: Let me start by saying this game really isn't bad. It IS fun to play and it is rather hard to combine 3 different genres into one game.
THE GAME:
this game tries hard to make you believe that this parallel universe exists. The game starts...

soul jumping

by   mightybrite999 ,  Jul 11, 2000
Pros: freedom of movement
Cons: very hard
Review: Yes we have all been there with this game. But besides
the unusual storyline the game is actually very good.
The thing that makes this game so good is the freedom
to go anywhere in the city of omikron. And with demons
taking over...

Original idea....

by   ImThinking ,  Jul 7, 2000
Pros: Original story.
Cons: It's too much like a Playstation game.
Review: The objective of this game is to follow the story of all the people you talk to. Plus, the sneak, a computer terminal attached to Kayl's arm, can call the sliders (transporters) and it is also the menu screen, sort of like an RPG.

Omikron didn't see us coming... but it saw us leaving.

by   colol ,  Sep 8, 2001
Pros: Music, the idea, large world
Cons: Graphics, control, font,
The Bottom Line: If you've got a massive patience level and don't mind the outlay of about $20 on this game, try it. Otherwise, avoid it.
Review: This game had the potential to be a good game. Really, it did -- even though it was a port, it had several good things going for it. The story (cyberpunk) is something rarely seen anymore, and honestly not really seen at all on Dreamcast. The music...

extremely rushed pc port

by   sephiroth2000 ,  Aug 10, 2000
Pros: everything!
Cons: voiceovers?
Review: This game really disappointed me; it looked cool, but ended up being a big waste of my 50 dollars. First of all when it starts out, the person who talks to you says for you to use your COMPUTER to help him, not your dreamcast, your COMPUTER! That shows...
