by   phungus ,  Dec 6, 2007
Pros: Great indoor photos, includes a remote
Cons: Nothing you shouldn't expect from a middle range camera
The Bottom Line: It takes great photos both inside and out.
Review: If you are looking for a low cost digital camera that takes great indoor photos, then check out the Olympus C-5000. It’s packed with features, simple to use, and takes amazing pictures both indoors and outside. My wife and I have had this one for ...

great camera and really cool super macro

by   lastsnare ,  Feb 18, 2004
Pros: price, super macro, resolution, manual controls, lithium battery and charger included, remote, available attachments
Cons: no sound in movie mode if i had to nit-pick
The Bottom Line: This is a great camera for 5 megapixel resolution at around $400, and with the super macro feature it's hard to beat it.
Review: I purchased this camera from the electronics store at which I work (red logo and gray building, take a guess). Originally I was choosing between the Nikon 4300 and this one. I'm glad I picked the C-5000 because the Super Macro (not the same as the ...

Wow. Incredible. But get a generic spare battery.

by   epinionateacom ,  May 3, 2004
Pros: Spectacular pictures. Easy to use. Nice design. Durable. External flash adapter.
Cons: Skimpy memory. Upgrade at time of purchase is really the only choice.
The Bottom Line: To want more than this you really have to be a picky, picky professional.
Review: My wife and I like photography but we are into RESULTS and we view the equipment as a means, not an end in itself. We have a few decent SLRs but they are now sitting in their cases gathering dust. After comparing a lot of reviews here and elsewhere we ...

Good, solid affordable camera

by   njdevil34 ,  Jan 3, 2004
Pros: picture quality, ease of use, size
Cons: shutter lag is an annoyance, manual on cd only, no ac adapter
Review: I had heard mixed reviews regarding this camera and started to second guess my decision. I am glad I stuck with purchasing this model. It combines the ease of a point and shoot camera with manual controls of a entry level advanced digital camera. ...

Olympus C-5000

by   toddandstacy ,  Jan 9, 2004
Pros: picture quality excellent, comfortable, small , sturdily built, hot shoe, price
Cons: no video sound, but i'll use my video camera to make videos, battery, software sucks
Review: So far this camera is fantastic. Picture quality is excellent. I am not a professional photographer and I won't nitpickly compare it to cameras that cost alot more than this one but this camera is a great value for the money. ...

pro features at a point and shoot price

by   jrcomp1 ,  Dec 10, 2004
Pros: Fully automatic yet it allows manual control of most camera features.
Cons: The flash (low power and poor red-eye control)
Review: This camera has worked very well in most situations. While the fully automatic mode works very well, you have full manual control over every feature except the focus. Though the manual controls are more cumbersome to use than on most SLR cameras, the ...

Pros: Pro features, 5 megapixels, Lots of manual options, superb images
Cons: Underpowered battery, Minor noise and major red-eye problems
The Bottom Line: The new Olympus C5000 provides users with advanced features, high quality digital images, and a competitive price
Review: Olympus’ new C5000 is the third generation update of the very popular C4000 prosumer digicam and offers much of the upscale C5060’s cutting edge technology and the C5050’s professional level of usability. The C5000 is targeted toward ...

Good Buy

by   happyface24 ,  May 20, 2004
Pros: Good clarity, light weight, 5 megapixels, silent video, good starter digital camera
Cons: Needs more zoom, better battery, more memory, and has annoying shutter lag
The Bottom Line: It's an ok camera. It's not amazing. I don't know that I would get it again if I had the choice but I'm enjoying using it anyway.
Review: I'm an amateur. I had no idea what I really wanted in a digital camera when I decided I wanted one. I wanted to take pictures of my children and have the ability to edit and discard any pictures without paying for them. I found that though this ...

5 mega pixel may sound good but picture quality is poor

by   wallsmith ,  Dec 28, 2003
Pros: Compact size, familiar menu options, includes charger, no more locking lens cap.
Cons: Poor lens quality at any distance, no sound with video.
Review: I've owned an Olympus 3000z for several years and loved the picture quality and features. When I thought about upgrading I considered several 5 mega pixel cameras and figured that the newest from the Olympus line up would be a great option. What I liked ...
