I did much research on DLSR's before purchasing my first. The camera is feature rich in a nice starter price range.
I have had the Olympus EVOLT E-510 for two months now and have been able to take nice pictures of anything. I like the 10 megapixel range and the ability to save in RAW and/or JPEG.
It is nice to be able to adjust camera settings in two or three button clicks rather than having to hunt through menu after menu to get to settings.
The ability to use a wireless remote was a big plus for me as I am planing on taking my own family portraits.
The two lenses are adequate for beginner to low end intermediate photography, but the apertures on both could be a little wider(f2.8 instead of f3.5).
The battery life could be a little better, but I do not have any other brands or models to compare it to. In addition to the original rechargeable battery I purchased the Lithium battery holder (
PS-LBH1 W) which has worked great.
I have enjoyed using this camera and learning the new aspects of DLSR. Olympus also offers a few photo lessons courtesy of Web Photo School.
