Author's Review
I have been using Old Spice deodorant for quite some time. Before I started using Old Spice, I used a variety of other deodorants and antiperspirants, and none of them seemed to work as well as Old Spice does.
One of the main reasons why I switched to Old Spice is because of application. The stick look blue while it is in the tube, but when it goes on, it is clear. I enjoy how smooth the stick applies to my underarm, and that it does not leave any rash or discomfort. With past deodorants, the white dry sticks would leave my underarms with a rash that would itch and cause me discomfort most of the day, and they would also leave a white residue on the inside of my shirt. With Old Spice, I have not had the rash, discomfort, or the residue on my shirt.
The stick of Old Spice that I usually use is 3.25 ounces. This size of deodorant lasts about a month or two, and I swipe my underarm about 3 or 4 times. Other sticks that I have used have lasted about the same length, except for the gel kinds. With the gel sticks, I would have the tendency to push to much gel out and end up wasting more deodorant than I would use. Plus, the gel deodorants seemed to leave the gross yellow pit stains, which Old Spice does not.
The scents of Old Spice are relatively similar (in my opinion at least), they all smell strongly of cologne. This is definitely not a bad thing; I just have a hard time distinguishing one scent from another. The good thing about having a strong cologne scent is that it gives you two for the price of one. You get a deodorant that works, and cologne that smells good, so you really have no need to buy both, just add a little more Old Spice before going out.
On the tube of Old Spice, it says that it gives 24-hour odor protection. I have been wearing mine for about 12-hours, and by taking a little sniff, I do not smell the Old Spice scent at all, I do not smell an odor either, so I guess it is true. I would like it to keep the Old Spice scent for the full 24 hours, though.
Old Spice is not an antiperspirant, so it would do anything to stop or slow down sweating. What it does instead, is it makes the sweaty person more bearable to be around. Old Spice works well under extreme perspiration (athletics, construction, ect.) to a certain extent. It will sweat off, like most other products, but for a couple hours of heavy sweat, it works just fine.
