Author's Review
Old Spice has been around for a while, but only in the past few years have they come up with deodorants that are built for really active guys. In the past, the cologne would have to suffice, but now people are looking for a deodorant that not only does its job, but also smells good at the same time. I fell into that same demographic, that when I first started using deodorants, I didn't really care all that much. So, I ended up using unscented types by Sure. It was not until I came to college that I decided to start using a different brand and I stumbled across Old Spice, Pure Sport. It was a good choice for a while, but recently I have gotten hooked on a new brand by the same company.
Old Spice now has a high endurance, long lasting deodorant called "Arctic Force." It is called that, because the aroma that it gives off is actually strong, but at the same time not as strong as a cologne would be. Such is the case, that if you are wearing it, people around you will be able to smell it, but won't be upset about it at all. It has a nice, spicy smell, that many of my girlfriends (friends that are girls) have said smells very good indeed. This is what I call a 2 for 1 deal when you can buy a deodorant that has one job of keeping you dry, and takes on the second job of making you smell good at the same time.
The Old Spice High Endurance Arctic Force, comes in a 3.25 oz. (92 g) stick, with a gel-based deodorant in it. This is something that I have found myself liking a lot better than powder based deodorants. The reason I like this better, is that you can also tell when you have it on. You can actually feel it coating you when you are putting it on, unlike other powdery brands where you have to watch yourself do it to make sure you are actually getting some deodorant on. For those purchasing it, it comes in a bright red container, and usually stands out from the rest of the selections on the deodorants isle.
This version of old spice is designed to give you 24-hour odor protection, so if you put it on at the beginning of the day, you can expect it to last you the entire day. It even allows you to go to bed that night feeling secure that you won't smell bad to the person lying next to you. For most of the day, if you raise your arms, you will be able to smell the crisp, clean scent of it. If you are in a colder setting, or you are not moving around too much, you won't be able to smell the deodorant very often. But, if you are in an active office setting, or are moving around doing physical activity the smell wafting from the deodorant will be quite clear. This is also a good sign to you that it is working, if you are able to smell it instead of yourself.
The directions for the product are quite simple, in that you twist the product up using the neat little turner at the bottom. Remove the protective seal and discard when first using, and slowly glide on. Apply it to the underarms only, and always replace the cap tightly when you are done with it. Of course since it only lasts 24 hours once it is on you, they recommend that you use the product daily. Also take heed to the warning to replace the cap, because if you do not, the roller will dry out, and the next time you try to use it, it will be rough on your skin. Also, I have learned that it is better to store it in a cooler place, or in the shade, because the moisture in the deodorant can tend to evaporate if left in the sun too long.
The active ingredients in Arctic Force are: dipropylene glycol, water, propylene glycol, sodium stearate, fragrance, PPG-3 myristyl edta, sodium hydroxide, violet 2, and green 6. If you have any allergic reaction to it they urge you to see a physician, and if you have any questions about the product they provide a phone number at 1-800-677-7582 and a web-site at www.oldspice.com. This is a product produced and sold by Proctor and Gamble, and I have found that it does a service for its parent company.
This is a great deodorant that I have simply fallen in love with. One roller will typically last me about 30-40 days, and that is with the constant use of a physically active dude. The odor makes it a huge benefit when you are exercising around the ladies, and at $2.29-$2.59 depending on where you purchase it, you come away not regretting paying to smell nice. I highly recommend using this product, or if you are not sure, I recommend at least giving it a try. The worst thing that could happen, is that you attract too many ladies.
