Office 3: To Buy or Not to Buy?

Other reviewers seem to appreciate the product but fall just shy of recommending an actual purchase of the product. With each reviewer's valid points, as well as the fact you can view episodes on TBS on Tuesday nights these days, it'd be easy to pass on this.

But personally, I have yet to grow tired of any of the episodes found here, and the Office is the the first DVD series I've run into that has deleted scenes that are actually worth your time. And each episode contains 8-10 minutes of deleted scenes, so you're effectively extending each episode's run time by about one third.

The price tag is a bit expensive, depending on when and where you get it. Fortunately for me, I found an electronics retailer selling it for $19.99 after Christmas, so buying it was a no brainer. But even at the full price tag (which I paid for Season Two, the funniest season the show has delivered so far), I think it's well worth it. Besides, put the price in perspective compared to other DVDs. What's the typical DVD of a major motion picture run, $12-15 for 1.5 hours of entertainment? The Office Season Two delivers hours worth of entertainment for just double that price.

In terms of show quality, this season runs a close second to Season Two in terms of comedy, and takes on an added dimension as romances further develop. Season Three is the season where the plots become (relatively) deeper and more well-rounded, and marks the last season before some of the more absurd plotlines we've seen in Season Four.

If you're an Office fan, this is money well-spent, even if doesn't hurt to do a little comparison shopping to find the best price.
