Why I Still Like TrimSpa, Even Though I Didn’t Lose The Weight

by   Tigerlily137 ,   Sep 23, 2004

Pros:  Incredible energy, suppresses appetite.

Cons:  I didn’t lose much weight.

The Bottom Line:  Maybe it’ll work for you or maybe it won’t. A lot depends on personal effort. It doesn’t control binge eating habits.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I am a healthy, active 22 year old female. I eat mostly healthy foods, limiting my daily calorie intake, and exercise frequently. I am, in fact, in the highest physical fitness bracket in the Navy, so why is it that I can’t get rid of these last 5-10 lbs that are bugging me?

I’ve never been one for diets or fads, and I didn’t even blink an eye when I repeated saw Anna Nicole Smith and her ads on TV or magazines. It wasn’t until I read a few reviews on this site from others who claimed it worked for them until I decided to give TrimSpa a try. I was mainly interested in the faster metabolism effects, as well as the appetite suppressant, and was happy that this product is ephedra free, because I don’t believe in taking unnecessary risks.

I bought TrimSpa at Fred Meyer’s, our local version of a Super Wal-Mart or Super-Target for $40.00. This is a little pricier than many other weight loss supplements on the market, so this puts TrimSpa at an immediate disadvantage. I read the bottle and directions thoroughly several times before making my final decision to purchase this product.

There are 3 different versions of TrimSpa: A Fat Blocker, a Carb Blocker, and an Ephedra Free version. Since I’m trying to lost weight and have no worries about gaining weight, I went with the latter. On www.drugstore.com you can get the Ephedra Free version for $29.99, and the other two for $24.99, and if knew that before I would have ordered from there instead of going anywhere else.

The bottle recommends that you take 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day as needed. That’s a max of 6 pills a day, which will last 10 days for a 60 tablet bottle. I wanted to try this out the first day I got it, which happened to be about 2 pm, so I started off slowly with one pill and took two at night.

The pills are large, but they are surprisingly easy to swallow, and they don’t have funny smell or aftertaste like a lot of supplements and vitamins. Immediately I notice a change in my energy levels. For the following days I took the pills as directed, 2 first thing in the morning, two right before lunch, and two before dinner. I made sure to drink at least a full glass of water each time, because the bottle warns of adverse effects such as your throat constricting if you don’t have enough water intake. Taking these pills made it much easier for me to wake up in the morning and get started with my day, and the energy lasted all day. I could go to bed later and wake up earlier with no problems. I also did notice a decrease in my appetite the first few days, but that could also be chalked up to my mind psyching me up for this product to really work.

TrimSpa caused me to have to urinate quite a bit more frequently than I usually do, and I contribute that factor mainly to the 3 lbs I lost within the first couple days. Unfortunately, I didn’t lose any more weight after that. I think that one of the reasons that could be a big factor is that my neck was injured in a car accident, so I took two weeks off from the gym. I did manage to maintain my weight without exercise while eating the same foods as I did before taking TrimSpa, so that has to amount to something. Plus the incredible energy that I got when taking these pills is practically worth the $40.00 alone! I also never experienced any side effects such as nausea, vomiting, extreme heart rate, or jitters, as I’ve heard others complain about other supplements, even ones that don’t contain ephedra. I also had no problems when I stopped using TrimSpa. A couple weeks later I miss the high energy that I had when taking the pills, but I haven’t put on any of the 3 lbs I lost, and I’ve started my workout regime again. I guess I’ll just have to work even harder than before and lost the weight the old-fashioned way.

One complaint that I have is that it’s a little hard to take a bottle of pills to work with you, or to remember to wrap two up each day for lunch. I like the idea that Metabolife has with 2 pill packets for easy travel. But that’s just a minor complaint…

Overall, I know that there is no miracle cure for weight loss, and I wish that the rest of America would see that as well. A healthy diet, with overall an caloric intake of less than the calories you burn a day is the only way you’re going to lose weight safely without surgery. I do like the high energy and appetite suppressing effects of TrimSpa, however, and for others who might not be in as good of shape as I am, I see no reason why you shouldn’t try this product.
